Jerry Garcia asked: Hello. I’m looking at taking a job in Austin, Texas, but I’m having a hard time deciding if the salary is enough or not. I hear from one study that says Austin is one of the best cities in the country for value, and I’ve talked to several people who said it was cheap for a city, but then I’m getting conflicting information from other people who say it’s really expensive, and you can barely scrape by on $60,000. I’m single, don’t go out much, and only need an apartment–can anyone tell me what you need to earn to get by in Austin? How much to live comfortably? Thanks.

robdc2002 asked: I am booking a flight to the Austin City Limits festival. I can’t find information about what time things get going Friday and what time the final acts will end on Sunday. I need this information to book flights. Does anyone know what times things began and ended in previous years? Does anyone know what times things begin and end this year?
Thanks.

korn77840 asked: The Kelsey-Seybold clinics located in the Houston metro area provide doctors with the varying specialities (pediatrics, ENT, neurology, etc.) that in some cases do not require a referral from your primary physician (my insurance won’t cover the office visit fee to see a specialist without the referral). Is there anything like this in Austin, Texas? Thanks!

xcassadagax asked: How long does it take to get in a entrance. Is it short the second and third day once you have your wrist bands. If you are at the back of a crowd during the biggest performance can u still see the stage. How long does it take to walk from one end to another of the park. Do they sell t-shirts for each individual band, and if so where.

newwave74 asked: I will be relocating to Austin Texas sometime next year. I will be teaching middle school. How do Texas schools compare in treatment of teachers?
I can tell you in Los Angeles, sometimes you don’t even get paid and have to stand in long lines in Downtown LA to get your paycheck. It is a nightmare! Buying my condo last year, I feel like I live in poverty (and I have a Master’s Degree)
I’m looking for less hectic city life.
How are children? Is there a large dropout rate? (LA is 50%)
What areas have a large percentage of English Language Learners and Free Lunches? How do kids stand up nationally on standardized tests? What is discipline like in most schools? (We can’t assign students campus clean-up anymore because of lawsuits)It is crazy here. Only 1/3 of the middle school kids graduated in the school I teach at.
If you are a teacher, parent, or student any info would be greatly appreciated.
Christian
